Whenever the Mood Strike Me and it's time for a change. Five O'Clock Angel refers not to a country song, but to Maria St. Just, the original Maggie the Cat in the Tennessee Williams play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I'm antsy like Maggie. This blog is about whatever strikes my fancy, whenever it strikes my fancy. I love old movies, especially Gene Kelly - my first love. Music, design, travel, politics and the reason it's always five o'clock somewhere.
I just have something to say about that 1964 Judy/Gene pic…
I’ve seen several pictures with Judy holding someone’s hand—we all know how touchy-feely she was. But usually they’re just…kinda grasping.
In this pic I could help but notice: her and Gene’s fingers are interlocking.
That just takes it to a whole other level, y’all.
Like I always said, Gene always came right out and said that he loved her - all the other costars were lovely (or not in Esther’s case), but with Judy, the first thing out of his mouth was that he loved her. He was also an arm locker (in pictures) but never with her….it was a whole other level.
